Since 2004, the Klean Kanteen brand from California, USA, has stood for handmade and safe 18/8 stainless steel bottles, which are manufactured under fair conditions in China. The family- and employee-run company is led in its second generation by siblings Jeff Cresswell & Michelle Kalberer.
Klean Kanteen's mission is firmly anchored in its name. "Clean = clean" and "Canteen = flask". Klean Kanteen, the "clean bottle", offers a pollutant-free alternative to disposable bottles and cups. In 2004, the family-owned company launched the first BPA-free reusable stainless steel water bottle. Away from disposable waste and towards a toxin-free alternative.
In 2008, they became members of "1% For The Planet" and have since donated 1% of their annual revenue to non-profit projects that focus on the health of our wonderful planet.
In 2012, Klean Kanteen was able to join the certified B Corporations. The independent B Corp standards guarantee the highest level of performance, accountability, and transparency.
In 2020, Klean Kanteen completed the three-step process of the organization Climate Neutral and is now 100% climate neutral in the manufacture and delivery of its products worldwide. The label "Climate Neutral Certified" helps you as a customer with your purchase decision if the reduction of greenhouse gases and climate change are also very important to you.
In 2023, Klean Kanteen fulfills another promise. Within 2 years, all products will be made from 95% recycled stainless steel (currently 90%). This reduces emissions from steel production by 40%, energy consumption by 30%, and the impact on the ecosystem by as much as 60%.
